What are the Vaults of Atal’Utek
The Vaults of Atal’Utek is a unique underground zone located beneath The Coiled Isle. Here, players can take part in a variety of world activities, earn Corrosive Coins, and exchange them for venom-themed mounts, pets, toys, and other collectibles.
There are three entrances to the Vaults of Atal’Utek:
- Gate of the Serpent’s Eye — Venom’s Rise (43.72, 44.19)
- Gate of the Western Fang — Forum (31.29, 64.18)
- Gate of the Eastern Fang — Tokka’s Landing (45.67, 64.90)
After entering through any of these gates, you won’t be able to use flying mounts until you leave the zone. However, the Vaults feature their own travel system, allowing you to move around quickly without relying on flying.

Completing all major activities in the Vaults of Atal’Utek rewards the Assault the Vault achievement and the exclusive Venomous Coiler ground mount, making this zone one of the most rewarding destinations in Patch 12.1.
Below, you’ll find everything you need to know about the Vaults of Atal’Utek before the season starts.
Vaults of Atal’Utek Activities
The Vaults of Atal’Utek feature three interconnected activities that form the core gameplay loop of the zone. Completing one activity unlocks the next, allowing players to progress through increasingly challenging encounters.
Temple Patrols

Temple Patrols are the most common and easiest activity in the Vaults of Atal’Utek. They appear every 10 minutes, are marked with a gear icon on the map, and can usually be completed solo. Finishing 250 Temple Patrols rewards the Pro Poison Patroller achievement and the Emerald Skyfang flying mount.
Temple Strikes
Temple Strikes are small zone events that become available after enough Temple Patrols have been completed. They are designed for 3–5 players, although well-geared characters may be able to complete them alone. These events offer greater rewards and advance the zone’s progression.
Temple Incursions
Temple Incursions are the largest and most challenging events in the Vaults of Atal’Utek. They begin after two Temple Strikes have been completed and require 15–20 players to finish efficiently. During an Incursion, the entire zone becomes part of the event, culminating in a battle against a powerful boss that rewards participants with valuable loot and seasonal progression.
Vaults of Atal’Utek Features

Patch 12.1 introduces two new progression systems for the Vaults of Atal’Utek: the Altar of Corrosion and the Corrosive Codex. These systems make your character stronger and provide additional bonuses while exploring the new zone.
The Altar of Corrosion
The Altar of Corrosion is a talent tree that works exclusively inside the Vaults of Atal’Utek. New talents are unlocked by spending Corrosive Coins, and each purchase increases the cost of the next upgrade.
Available talents provide a variety of useful bonuses, including:
- Reduced damage taken from Vaults of Atal’Utek enemies.
- Increased damage against specific enemy types.
- Additional loot from activities.
- Access to new flight masters and other quality-of-life upgrades.
The Corrosive Codex
The Corrosive Codex is a collection of passive combat abilities that enhance your character’s performance. Unlike the Altar of Corrosion, these abilities can also be used outside the Vaults of Atal’Utek, providing bonuses in the open world and Delves. However, they are automatically disabled in raids, dungeons, and PvP.
You can equip two Corrosive Codex abilities at the same time. The first slot unlocks after purchasing 8 Altar of Corrosion talents, while the second becomes available after unlocking 16 talents. You can change your equipped abilities at the Altar of Corrosion or inside any Delve, allowing you to adapt your build to different situations.
Collectibles for Corrosive Coins

Corrosive Coins are the main currency of the Vaults of Atal’Utek. As you complete activities throughout the zone, you’ll earn these coins and can exchange them for a wide variety of exclusive venom-themed collectibles. Available rewards include a mount, battle pets, housing decorations, and other unique cosmetic items.
