Midnight Season 2 Raid Bosses Guide

WoW Midnight Season 2 Raids

When Midnight Season 2 begins, players will be able to enter two new raids: Venomous Abyss and Tidebound Grotto. In this guide, we provide short tactical tips for every boss, with separate advice for Tanks, Healers, and DPS. These simple role-based overviews will help you quickly learn your main tasks in each encounter and feel ready to join your first raid.

Venomous Abyss Raid Tactics

Venomous Abyss features eight bosses, and each encounter has different mechanics and tasks for every role. Below, we have prepared short tactical guides for Tanks, Healers, and DPS for each boss. They will help you quickly learn your main responsibilities and get ready for the main raid of the season.

Nek’zali the Soulcoiler

Tanks. Keep Nek’zali away from the rest of the raid and handle Hollowing Strikes properly. When Soul Transfer begins, help your group attack the Echoes of Jawae and break their Tether of Awakening before they can strengthen the boss. Keep the movement distance of Possession Barrage as short as possible to lower its damage.

Healers. Prepare for strong raid-wide damage caused by Soulcoil Ignition. During Soulcoil Rite, help the group stop too many souls from reaching the Soulcoil Well, as this can result in lethal damage. Keep players alive through Essence Rend and deal with the Latent Cultists that appear when the effect ends.

Damage Dealers. Focus and kill the Latent Cultists that spawn after Essence Rend ends. Quickly kill the Restless Amani that come out of the sarcophagi. During Soul Transfer, attack the Echoes of Jawae and break their Tether of Awakening before they can empower Nek’zali.

Entombed Sentinels

Tanks. Position the Sentinels carefully to avoid Toxic Droplets. Manage your positioning and tank swaps so that Empowering Slam and Bloodvenom Injection do not repeatedly hit the same player. During Helical Toxins, make sure you get exactly 4 stacks to cancel the effect.

Healers. Remove Blighted Blood from affected players and prepare for heavy group damage from Contaminate. When Helical Toxins is active, help players reach exactly 4 stacks to neutralize the effect.

Damage Dealers. Quickly destroy the Venom Coagulation slime to stop Contaminate. Keep the two Sentinels close to each other in health because Vitriolic Stasis heals the weaker Sentinel until its health matches the stronger one. Get exactly 4 stacks of Helical Toxins to cancel the effect.

The Lost Explorers

Tanks. Position the explorers so Scrollsage Iku and Trader Gebbo aren’t both close to First Mate Nama. This prevents United Defense. Manage Shredding Shards and its vulnerability effect, and watch Steady Strikes, as Nama’s physical damage increases over time.

Healers. Be ready for heavy raid-wide damage from Blink Nova. Keep players affected by Icebound Flames alive and dispel the remaining effect when possible. Heal players damaged by Splinters and prepare for Mighty Thud.

Damage Dealers. Interrupt Icebound Flames. Use Burning Flames and Piercing Frost to clear the opposite patches created by Frostfire Volley. Help free the controlled tortollan from Mor’zahi’s control by making it eat Disgusting Fish. Use the mushrooms to avoid Blast Wave.

Vashnik the Malignant

Tanks. Keep track of Dripping Fangs, as its damage gets stronger over time. When Vashnik reaches 100 energy and casts Imbibe, be prepared for the boss to gain power from the two closest fountains.

Healers. Expect heavy raid-wide damage when Vashnik uses Imbibe. Watch for Siphoning Infection, which absorbs healing received by affected players. Keep the group healthy, especially as Toxic Vapor deals more damage after each use of Imbibe.

Damage Dealers. Kill Living Venoms before they reach the Malignant Cavity. If they get there, they will trigger Malignant Burst. When the first Clotting Venom appears, remove its Sanguineous Fortitude protection before focusing the add.

Sszorak

Tanks. Keep track of Corroding Venom stacks and plan tank swaps before the debuff becomes too dangerous. Watch Sszorak’s Apex Predator combo and use defensive abilities against Ravage and Mutilate. During Howling Maelstrom, keep the boss under control and avoid being pushed into dangerous areas.

Healers. Be prepared for heavy raid-wide damage from Venomous Surge and Raging Crosswinds. Make sure players survive the knockbacks from Crosswinds and Howling Maelstrom. Save healing cooldowns for moments with heavy movement and increased damage.

Damage Dealers. Move away from players targeted by Venomous Surge to limit the damage to the raid. Watch Raging Crosswinds and position yourself so you do not get knocked into danger. During Howling Maelstrom, focus Sszorak while Dig In is active, as this is the main window to deal increased damage to the boss.

The Twin Fangs

Tanks. Position the bosses carefully so Caustic Globules do not leave dangerous areas near the group. Manage Eternal Venom and use Ravenous Feast to clear its stacks before they become deadly. Make sure Stone Breaker hits a player; otherwise, the entire raid will take damage.

Healers. Pay close attention to players with Eternal Venom, as high stacks can kill them unless they are removed with Ravenous Feast. Heal players through Corrosive Spit from the summoned adds and prepare for heavy raid damage when both serpents combine their attacks.

Damage Dealers. Avoid Caustic Globules to avoid gaining Eternal Venom. Help remove high stacks with Ravenous Feast. Quickly kill Spawns of Vexhul to stop their Corrosive Spit. When both bosses reach 100 energy, be ready for them to submerge and attack the raid together.

The Coiled Altar

Tanks. Position Zul’jan so Sever can destroy Coalesced Venom when possible, while handling the heavy damage from the boss. During the Malacrass phase, use Soul Sever to destroy Manifestations of Dread. Track Corrupted Toxin stacks and manage them carefully.

Healers. Prepare for heavy raid damage and healing absorbs from Fangs of the Coiled Altar and Defilement of the Coiled Altar. Keep the group alive through Venom Rupture, Venomfang, and Gloombomb. Be especially ready for extra damage when Coalesced Venom is destroyed.

Damage Dealers. Destroy Coalesced Venom and free players affected by Dreadmarch. Then focus the spawned Manifestations of Dread. Quickly break the Veil of Twilight to survive Eternal Nightfall.

Ula’tek

Tanks. Keep Ula’tek within melee range to prevent Unchecked Rage and Rattler Slam. Stand in Mother’s Wrath to stop it from hitting the whole raid. Help control Ula’tek and the adds while staying away from dangerous venom areas.

Healers. Be ready for raid-wide damage when the Blightscale Vipers hatch, as each one applies Putrid Membrane to the raid. During Spectral Coils, have players stack on the impact points to reduce the incoming damage.

Damage Dealers. Quickly destroy Blightscale Clutch before it becomes too strong. Kill Blightscale Spawn before they reach the venom and hatch into Vipers. Focus Spawn with Writhing Gestation first and help control the Doomscale adds.

Tidebound Grotto Lair Tactic

Tidebound Grotto is a one-boss raid featuring Nymrissa Wavecaller. Below, you can find a short strategy guide for each role, covering the most important mechanics for Tanks, Healers, and DPS. This overview will help you understand your main responsibilities and prepare for the encounter.

Nymrissa Wavecaller

Tanks. Keep Nymrissa within melee range and handle the steady damage from Water Jet and Iceblade Flurry. Use Water Jet to clear Lingering Frost patches when necessary. During Alluring Bubble, help control the incoming murlocs and stop them from becoming empowered.

Healers. Be ready for heavy raid-wide damage from Abyssal Rain. Save healing cooldowns for when Alluring Bubble bursts, as it causes a large amount of damage to the entire group.

Damage Dealers. Focus Bubblefin Shorerunners before they reach the Alluring Bubble. Murlocs that enter the bubble become empowered, so kill or control them quickly. Prevent them from breaking the bubble before Swirling Whirlpools destroy it.
